Spring has finally arrived! In Japan, while cherry blossoms are capturing everyone's attention, the countdown to the new season's tea harvest has also begun. We'll be drunk with shincha tasting in a few months.
For now, we're happy to present a collection of pottery from Japan, much of it from the town of Mashiko in Tochigi Prefecture. I lived there in 1999-2000, and made numerous trips back in the following few years.
The people and pottery of Mashiko definitely have a special place in my heart.
We hope that you will also enjoy the warmth of Mashiko-yaki.

| Kagoshima Organic Houjicha (Roasted Bancha) - 2023 1st Harvest Origin: Kagoshima Prefecture. Cultivar: Yabukita The roasting process produces a very savory and smoky aroma and a slightly sweet flavor reminiscent of sweet potatoes or apricots, in a deep chestnut brown liquor. Very low astringency, caffeine, and tannin levels make this a smooth and mellow tea that can be enjoyed anytime by tea drinkers of all ages. |
