Spring has finally arrived! In Japan, while cherry blossoms are capturing everyone's attention, the countdown to the new season's tea harvest has also begun. We'll be drunk with shincha tasting in a few months.

For now, we're happy to present a collection of pottery from Japan, much of it from the town of Mashiko in Tochigi Prefecture. I lived there in 1999-2000, and made numerous trips back in the following few years.

The people and pottery of Mashiko definitely have a special place in my heart.

We hope that you will also enjoy the warmth of Mashiko-yaki.

Origin: Organic Sencha from Kagoshima Prefecture, Kyushu, + Organic Brown Rice Blend from Niigata and Shizuoka Prefectures

Our Organic Genmaicha infuses to a very smooth and fragrant tea with low astringency. It has the grassy notes of good Sencha, plus the warm toasty aroma of roasted brown rice.

Kagoshima Prefecture, located at the southern end of the Japanese Island of Kyushu, is a leading producer of tea in Japan, second only to Shizuoka Prefecture.
